HG Prefab foldable expandable container homes — built to last, delivered worldwide.
Ordering a building sight-unseen from another continent sounds risky — until you understand how modern factory QC actually works. Container homes are produced in controlled environments with repeatable test procedures, and you can verify every step yourself. Here is what a proper inspection looks like.
Why factory-built beats field-built for QC
- Every weld, panel and circuit is completed indoors by specialized crews, not by whichever trade shows up on a muddy site.
- Problems are caught before shipping, where fixes cost the factory — not after delivery, where they cost you.
- The same checklist runs on every unit, producing consistent quality batch after batch.
The pre-shipment QC checklist
| Stage | What is checked |
|---|---|
| Frame & welding | Weld continuity, corner castings, galvanizing coverage, dimensional squareness |
| Panel & insulation | Rock wool density and coverage, panel joints, fire-rating documentation |
| Waterproofing | Seam sealant, roof drainage, window and door flashing — hose or spray testing |
| Electrical | Circuit continuity, earth bonding, breaker function, socket polarity and voltage tests |
| Plumbing (if fitted) | Pressure test on supply lines, drainage flow test, fixture checks |
| Doors & windows | Open/close cycles, lock function, gasket sealing, glass integrity |
| Finish & folding | Coating uniformity, interior surfaces, and a full fold/unfold cycle before packing |
You can watch it happen: video inspection
Before your unit ships, we walk the finished product on a live video call or recorded walkthrough, covering the checklist above. You see your actual unit — welds, wiring, finishes, doors — and can raise issues while the factory can still fix them the same week.
Third-party inspection: the independent option
- SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV or QIMA inspectors can audit the factory and your units against your specification for a typical fee of $300–$600 per inspection day.
- Booking is simple: you engage them directly with the factory address; we coordinate access and documentation.
- Best value point: during production (catches issues early) and before loading (confirms final quality and fold-packing).
Documentation that protects both sides
Every order ships with material certificates and test records:
- Steel and coating specifications
- Rock wool fire-rating certificates (A1)
- Electrical test results
- Assembly manual and folding/repacking instructions
These documents also serve you later — for permits, insurance and resale.
Fold-packing: the final QC step
Units are folded and secured for ocean transit, and the fold/unfold mechanism itself is tested before packing. This matters: it is the reason a unit that arrives folded reliably unfolds in about 2 hours with four workers — after a crane or forklift has offloaded it from the truck.
